ISSN1794-4724.TheGeneralHealth(GHQ-12)Questionnairehasproventobeaneffectivetoolfortheevaluationofmentalhealthinclinicalpatientsandthegeneralpopulation,beingoneofthemostvalidatedscreeninginstrumentsusedintheworldandoneofthemostrecommendedtobeusedinhealthsurveys.TheobjectiveofthisstudywastoevaluatethepsychometricpropertiesofGHQ-12,inagroupof85patientsadmittedintoaHospitalinthecityofMedellininordertoidentifythepsychologicalcomorbidityoftheirhealthproblems.Oncethesemanticsoftheratingscalewasadapted,aconfirmatoryfactoranalysiswasperformedusingthemethodofprincipalcomponentsfortwofactors,anditwasfoundthatthefactorialstructureexplainsthe51.76%ofvariance.Foreachfactor,theitemsweregroupedandnamedas"psychologicalwell-being"and"psychologicaldiscomfort";finally,thenormativescoresaccordingtotheGHQscoringsystemweredetermined,whichusesabinarysystem(0,1)andshowedanaveragescoreof5.34,whichsuggestsacutoffhigherthan5asanindicatorofperceptionofpsychologicaldiscomfort.Basedontheanalysisitwasfoundthatalthoughthereisastructureoftwofactors,thisstructurecanbeexplainedastwopartsofthesamecomponent(positiveandnegative).TheanalysisofinternalconsistencyusingtheCronbachalpha-coefficient,showedagoodinternalconsistencyandvalidity(.84).Afterevaluatingitspsychometricpropertiesitem11wasdiscardedforshowinganinadequatefactorloading.Itisrecommendedtochangethecurrentnameoftheinstrumentto"generalhealthshortquestionnaire(GHQ-R,2011)tobeimplementedasaninstrumentofprimaryevaluationinMentalHealthforthispopulation.Keywords : mentalhealthquestionnaire;psychologicalcomorbidity;psychologicalevaluation;inpatient;primarycare. ·abstractinSpanish|Portuguese ·textinSpanish ·Spanish ( pdf )
