StudentscometotheMediaLabthroughthePrograminMediaArtsandSciences(MAS),basedwithinMIT’sSchoolofArchitecture+Planning.Eachyear,theprogramacceptsapproximately50master’sandPhDcandidateswithbackgroundsrangingfromcomputersciencetopsychology,architecturetoneuroscience,mechanicalengineeringtomaterialscience,andmore.MASoffersapproximately30graduatecourses andseveralundergraduatesubjects.MediaLabcoursesexploreseveralthemes,including,forexample,human-computerinteraction,communications,learning,design,andentrepreneurship.MIT’s CenterforBitsandAtoms,aninterdisciplinaryinitiativeinvestigatingtheinterfacebetweencomputerscienceandphysicalscience,alsoadmitsstudentsthroughthePrograminMediaArtsandSciences.TheCenterisknownforitsglobalnetworkofdigitalfabricationfacilities.
