In2005,MITOpenCourseWareandotheropeneducationalresourcesprojectsformedtheOpenCourseWareConsortium,whichseekstoextendthereachandimpactofopencoursematerials,fosternewopencoursematerialsanddevelopsustainablemodelsforopencoursematerialpublication. In2007,MITOpenCourseWareintroducedasitecalledHighlightsforHighSchoolthatindexesresourcesontheMITOCWapplicabletoadvancedhighschoolstudyinbiology,chemistry,calculusandphysicsinanefforttosupportUSSTEMeducationatthesecondaryschoollevel.
