DANGER • TheGL-RmustbeinstalledonlyafterensuringtheminimumsafetydistancebetweentheGL-RandthehazardouszoneorhazardasestablishedbytheapplicableregulationsinthecountryorregioninwhichtheGL-Risused.(e.g.ENISO13855(ISO13855)inEUcountries) • ChooselocationsfortheinstallationoftheGL-Rtransmittersandreceiverssothattheyarenotsubjecttotheeffectsoflightreflectedfromglossysurfacesinthearea. • Correctoperationanddetectionisnotpossibleifthereceiverhasadifferentbeamaxisspacing(detectioncapability)fromthatofthetransmitter.Youmustverifythatthebeamaxisspacing(detectioncapability)isthesamebetweenthetransmitterandthereceiverwheninstallingtheGL-R. • TheGL-RmustbeinstalledsothatthemachineoperatorisabletogointoorapproachthehazardouszoneorhazardsonlybypassingthroughthedetectionzoneoftheGL-R.Strictlyavoidinstallationthatallowsthemachineoperatororapartofthemachineoperator'sbodytogointoorapproachthehazardouszoneorhazardswithoutpassingthroughtheprotectivezoneoftheGL-RortoremaininpositionbetweentheprotectivezoneoftheGL-Randthehazardouszoneorhazard.InacasewhereyouinstalltheGL-Runitsinseries(seriesconnection),youmustalwayschecktheinstallationcarefullywhetheryoufollowthiswarning,especiallyafterinstallationandmaintenance. • Youmustalwaysperformthepre-checktestsafterinstallingtheGL-Rinaccordancewiththepre-checktestprocedures,suchasitemsspecifiedinthisuser'smanual,inordertoverifythatthetestpiecescanbedetectedinallofthedetectionzones. • Interlockresetmechanisms(suchasswitches)mustbeinstalledsothattheentirehazardouszonecanbecheckedbytheresponsiblepersonnel.Interlockresetmechanismsshouldnotbeaccessiblefromwithinthehazardouszone. • MutingisafunctiontoallowatemporaryautomaticsuspensionoftheGL-RsafetyfunctionswhiletheGL-Risreceivingasignalfrommutingdevices(suchassensorsorswitches).Therefore,additionalsafetymeasuresarerequiredforthemachineonwhichtheGL-Risinstalledinordertoensuresafetywhilethemutingisactivated. • Mutingdevices,theinstallationofthosedevicesandtheproceduretoactivatethemutingfunctionmustfulfilltheconditionsspecifiedinthisuser'smanualandtherequirementsofthelaws,rules,regulationsandstandardsinthecountryorregioninwhichtheGL-Randthosedevicesareused.Failuretofollowthiswarningmayresultinsignificantharmtothemachineoperators,includingseriousinjuryordeath. • Whenyouinstallmutingdevices(suchassensorsorswitches)formuting,thefollowingconditionsmustbefulfilled.(1)Mutingdevicesmustbeinstalledsothatthemutingcannotbeactivatedifthe hazardouszoneofthemachineisinanunsafeconditionorcycle. (2)Mutingdevicesmustbeinstalledsothatthemutingcannotbeactivatedevenifthe personnelisaccidentallyapproachingthedetectionzoneoftheGL-R. • Themutingdevicemustbeinstalledsuchthatonlyresponsiblepersonnelhaveaccesstothatdevicetochangetheinstallationororientation.Specialtoolsmustberequiredtoensurethatonlyresponsiblepersonnelarecapableofinstallation,orientationorchangeofmutingdevice. • Onlytheresponsiblepersonnelmaybeallowedtoinstallorwirethedevicestoactivatethemutingfunction. • Theinstallationofamutinglampmayberequiredbythelaws,rules,regulations,andstandardsinthecountryorregioninwhichtheGL-Risusedifyouapplythemutingfunction.Itdependsonthemachineapplicationand/ortheresultofyourriskassessment.Ifitisnecessaryforyoutoprovideamutinglamp,youmustfulfilltherequirementsbecauseyouarefullyresponsibleforinstallationofthemutinglamp. • TheoverrideisafunctiontoallowatemporarymanualsuspensionofthesafetyfunctionsoftheGL-R.Therefore,additionalsafetymeasuresarerequiredfortheentiremachinesystemonwhichtheGL-Risinstalledinordertoensuresafetywhiletheoverrideisactivated. • Theoverridedevices,theinstallationofthosedevicesandtheprocedurestoactivatetheoverridemustfulfilltheconditionsspecifiedinthismanualaswellastherequirementsofthelaws,rules,regulationsandstandardsinthecountryorregioninwhichtheGL-Randthosedevicesareused.Failuretofollowthiswarningmayresultinsignificantharmtothemachineoperators,includingseriousinjuryordeath. • Theoverridedevices,whichareusedforactivationofoverride,mustbemanualoperatingdevices.Wheninstallingthedevicestoactivatetheoverride,thosedevicesmustbeinstalledsothatthewholehazardouszonecanbecheckedbytheresponsiblepersonnelandsothatitisnotpossibleformachineoperatorstooperatethosedevicesinthehazardouszone.
