ProtectyourVMsfromcompromisedfabricadministratorsbyusingshieldedVMs AshieldedVMisaGeneration2VMthathasavirtualTrustedPlatformModule(TPM),is encryptedbyusingBitLocker,andcanrunonlyonapprovedhostsinthefabric. Reduceyourdatacenterfootprintandincreaseavailabilitywithjust-enoughOS. ThenewNanoServerdeploymentoptionis25timessmallerthanWindowsServer,whilestill offeringadesktopexperience.Thisminimizestheattacksurface,increasesavailability,and reducesdeploymenttime,resourceusage,andstartuptime. AddevenmoreprotectiontoeverydeploymentofWindowsServer2016. Whetheryou’rerunninginanycloudoron-premises,youcantakeadvantageofadditional securityfeaturessuchasCodeIntegrityandControlFlowGuardtoensurethatonlypermitted binariesarerunandprotectagainstunknownvulnerabilities. Detectmaliciousbehaviorthroughenhancedsecurityauditingoptimizedforthreatdetection. UsingnewauditcategoriesforgroupmembershipandPNPtoidentifyandaddadditional informationtoauditevents,administratorscandivedeeperthanevertodiscovernewthreats Defendagainstmalwareattacksbyusingthebuilt-inantimalware WindowsDefenderisnowincludedinWindowsServer2016andoptimizedtosupportthevarious serverrolesandintegratewithWindowsPowerShellformalwarescanning. Limitexposureincaseofasecurityintrusion Ifyouweretosufferasecuritybreach,WindowsServer2016canlimittheexposureby segmentingyournetworkbasedonworkloadorbusinessneedsusingadistributedfirewalland networksecuritygroups.Youcanapplyrichpolicieswithinandacrosssegments.
