Thispresentationwillexaminekeyconceptslikeintensive,extensive,andfluenttypesoflistening(languageprocessing).Thenitwilldescribehowtocreatealow-costextensivelisteningprogramusingonlinematerials--thatis,freesoftware,publicdomainfilms,scripts/screenplays,andmultilingualsubtitlefiles.Moreover,theprogramcanbedoneentirelyonlineasapartofataughtcourseortomanageeffectiveindependentstudy.Finally,manyofthetechniquesandprocedurescanbeappliedtoteachertraining,thenativelanguagearts,andvariousacademicsubjects.
