Lackofanti-diuretichormoneproductionbythehypothalamuscausesdiabetesinsipidus.Inthisconditionthekidneysareunabletoreabsorbwater,whichleadstoexcessiveproductionofdiluteurineandverylargeamountsofdrinking.
