焦點賽事落在男子公開組八人艇，兩隊的八人艇均集合香港賽艇隊的最強組合，包括樂趣划艇會(A)的羅曉鋒、蘇秀華,樂趣划艇會(B)的梁俊碩、關騏昌及鄧超萌等。

他們在比賽中與台灣的中華南投隊爭持激烈，最後由樂趣划艇隊(B)勝出，不負眾望取得金牌。
