Featuringthreetimesasmuchgameplaytimeasitspredecessorhowever,thedifferenceslieintheadditionofatotalof42newracingtracks(ofwhich21areuniquetracks,withreverseddirectioncountingasseparatetrack),while18aretakenfromprevioustitlesintheRidgeRacerfranchise.TwotracksarefromtheoriginalRidgeRacer,threetracksarefromRidgeRacerRevolution,fourtracksarefromRaveRacer,eighttracksarefromR4:RidgeRacerType4,andfourtracksarefromRageRacer.EverytrackfromeveryPlayStationRidgeRacergamereleasedisincludedaspartofthispackage.Numerousnewgameplaymodesareincludedtosupplementtheoriginalsoftheprevioustitlesuchas:DuelandSurvivalmodes.Aswiththeprevioustitle,SingleRaceandWirelessBattlemodeisstillincluded,althoughSingleRacewasrenamedtoArcade. TheSpecialClasscarsfromRidgeRacer(PSP)havebeenmodifiedforthisreleaseandcategorisedintotwotieredcategorieswithfourcarseach.SpecialClass1denotescarsembodyingmoretraditionalsupercardesignsandappearances,whileSpecialClass2ismadeupofradicalornoveltydesignsthatboastthehighesttopspeedsattainableinthegame.Specifically,the'KamataAngelus'(SpecialClass1)isnowamoretraditionalsupercardesign,similarinappearancetotheAngelcarfromRidgeRacerRevolution,andnolongerpoweredbyjetengines.The'SoldatCrinale'(SpecialClass1)appearssimilartoitspreviousincarnation,whilethePac-Mancar(SpecialClass2)nowresemblesaminiatureaircraftindesign(withPac-Manhimselfdepictedaspilotingit),andisnolongerpoweredbypropellers.TheNewRally-Xcarhasbeenremovedentirelyandreplacedbythe'DanverHijack'(SpecialClass1);alarge,super-chargedPickuptruck.The'YamasaRaggio'(SpecialClass2),whichappearedinthe2006TokyoAutoSalonasaheavilymodifiedHondaNSX,isuniquetoRidgeRacer2andalsoappearsina"prize"moviethatisunlockedaftercompletionofthegame's"EXtour".ThecarwaslatermadeintoaTomicadie-casttoycarforlimitedrelease.ThethreeotherspecialclasscarsaretheAgeAngelusKid(SpecialClass2),AgeCrinaleKid(SpecialClass2),andTerraziWildGang(SpecialClass1).
